Charlotte gained its first BMW dealership over 30 years ago. In 1981 the dealership was acquired by Hendrick Automotive Group and renamed Hendrick Imports. Hendrick Imports has operated in its current location since 1985. Our store has seen a lot of change over the past twenty years, as the market for BMW has continually expanded. Our model line has continued to expand as well. We have grown from the basic 3, 5, & 7 series to include the 6-series coups and convertibles, the “M” division, the X3 and the two South Carolina manufactured models the Z4 convertibles and X5's.

Hendrick Imports or Hendrick BMW, our official name, has a unique setup. Our Certified Pre-Owned center is a stand-alone building, meaning, it operates independently from the new car department, parts and service. The latter are housed several doors away in the “main building”. We also have a freestanding MINI building; one of only eight in the country.

Recently, we increased our capacity in the Service Department with a $1.2 million addition which includes 40 technician bays and over 30,000 square feet of climate-controlled workspace.

Come enjoy our recently renovated customer lounge and parts boutique. We now can deliver the ultimate surroundings for parts and service that our customers deserve. In addition, we continue to supplement our Service Loaner Fleet monthly with the addition of new 2007 and 2008 model BMW’s.

Over the past three years, our store has experienced tremendous success in our sales, service, and parts operations. In 2005, BMW of North America recognized our outstanding Customer Satisfaction Scores (top 2% in the nation) and named us a Center of Excellence. This was our first time in the history of the store that we attained the manufacturer’s highest award. We followed up are this award with two more back to back victories in 2006 and 2007 for their highest honor. This award is only bestowed upon the top 9% high-performing stores in the nation, or roughly 30 stores. We are very proud of this achievement and we continually strive to deliver a world class experience.
